Rebecca Cool is one of my favourite painters.
You can read about my adoration here
You can imagine my delight when I discovered that my thoughtful Mum had given this to Mr Magoo in his Christmas Stocking.
It is the gift that keeps on giving.
Her pictures immediately draw you in.
Glenda Millard's writing keeps you in...
I'm telling you...this beats the Buzz Lightyear Treasury hands-down James Brown.
It's been hilarious trying to explain to the extremely literal Mr Magoo why the animals are named the way they are.
While we're on the subject, these are his two latest questions which I'm hoping the Blog Village can answer for me:
"Why are people bigger than dogs"
and
"Why does a brook babble? That's just weird. What does that even mean?"
Crickets.
That's all I can hear.
I've got nuthin'
This is currently being read EVERY night.
I'll let you in on a secret.
I don't even care that we read it every night.
It's short.
You get to do voices.
It's funny and poignant.
It's short.
Love you more than my bowl of mango yoghurt,
Meredy xo

I love Rebecca Cool too. She is amazing & if I am correct lives down the road from me in the beautiful, vibrant, artsy Fremantle(well it's quite a few miles down the road, but in the same city, if you get my drift-ha)
She is amazing. I used to buy her cards all the time. mmm. must get more.
Love Bugsy's books-adorable.
Oh Meredy,
I just used to LOVE 'doing the voices' !!
I now do them to our 9 month grandson & even at his young age he loves it !! I can't wait until he's a little older when I can really do a performance !!
You show us the BEST books, be they childrens or grown-ups.
You are such a good friend to have !! XXXX
OMGosh, I have been following your blog for about a year now and truly delight in your witty dialogue, sense of style and unabashed self deprecation! When I discovered our shared love of Anne of Green Gables I had to laugh out loud. Keep up the inspiring words, comedic take on family life, and fabulous imagery. The Pinetrest posts are like a fabulous magazine filled with all of things I love.
Thank you for sharing your Awesome view of life with the world!
Sincerely,
KMS - mother of three little rascals from Idaho, USA

One more thing...has your family discovered the kids books, Skippy John Jones? Hilarious! I think your team would get a kick out of doing the voices.
Very cute, we read evry night as well & I always enjoy the shorter stories. he he he!
Hi!
Did I win the Happiness Project book? I am not sure why we have not connected. Send a message to wrsch1966@hotmail.com and I will send you my address.
I do live in the states and if the cost from AU is too high you can choose someone else.
Son and family lived in AU for 3 1/2 years in Adelaide. Loved your country the two times we visited.
Blessings to you.
I love books and have read a couple of AU books that our daughter-in-law gave to me.
I have a collection of children's books. They are such fun.
